Resume and Exhibitions Michael Joshua Witenstein specializes in portraits and figurative paintings.
His art has been exhibited in museums in California and New Mexico, in juried shows accross the country and in solo exhibits in eleven states. His New York debut was at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea in 2005. Works by Witenstein are owned by collectors, Hollywood insiders, writers and businesses. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America.

Education and Training Witenstein began his art studies as a child at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC and took art classes whenever they were available in school. He earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. Witenstein has found that studying master works in museums and personal experimentation are the best teachers.
